Veterinarians

Dr. Angela Gerretsen

Veterinarian/Owner

Witnessing daily the relationship between clients and their pets motivates me to continue to develop my knowledge and skills. I believe adding animals to our lives makes us better and healthier people. After hours I enjoy spending time with family, our dog Joy, and cat Lucy along with several pet goats. I also love gardening, kayaking, hiking and reading. Currently I am studying different aspects of Traditional Chinese medicine including acupuncture and herbal medicine. It has been a blessing to work with such dedicated and compassionate clients and team members over the years.

Dr. Stephanie Sharkey

Veterinarian

Stephanie brings fresh leading edge knowledge to our small animal veterinary team. She completed an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto and graduated with distinction from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 2013. She grew up in Mississauga in a family that surrounded her with animals; inspiring her to work in a career where she can help nurture and maintain a bond between people and their pets. She has a special interest in feline medicine. She enjoys spending time with her cat, “Basil”, and training her German shepherd “Dax” in various dog sports such as agility, obedience, scent detection, and tracking. Horseback riding is a special hobby too.

Dr. Heather McGregor

Veterinarian

Dr. Heather McGregor graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1995. She joined the team in January 2020 as a small animal veterinarian working 3 to 4 days per week. Heather had provided relief/locum coverage at Coventry Animal Hospital since 2011. Heather has a special interest in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, and Feline Medicine.
Heather and her family moved to Goderich in 2009 and cannot imagine leaving the area. At present 3 cats and 1 dog share (rule) the house with their 4 humans.

Dr. Justine Rudniski

Veterinarian

Justine graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph in 2011. She worked on the Southern shore of Lake Simcoe in a mixed animal practice and joined the Mitchell Veterinary Services team in November 2012. Although she grew up in Toronto, she has always preferred a rural lifestyle. Justine spent her childhood summers at her grandparents’ farm in Shelburne, which led to her aspiration to become a veterinarian. She has completed courses on companion animal dentistry and ultrasound and has an interest in Internal Medicine. Justine really loves cats and has two brown tabbies, Tory and Ninja. She bottle-raised Ninja through the humane society in Walkerton while she was on her externship and never ceases to be amazed by his human tendencies. When she’s not at the clinic, Justine enjoys gardening as well as swimming, road biking and running, in an ongoing effort to train for triathlons.

Dr. Kayla Skubowius

Veterinarian

Kayla graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph in 2019. She spent her first year out of school practicing at a small animal hospital in St. Thomas before joining Coventry Animal Hospital in September 2020. Kayla grew up in the small town of Shakespeare outside Stratford and had always wanted to become a veterinarian from a young age. She has a special interest in Feline Medicine and has three cats of her own: Luna, Ellie and Dexter. In her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Leticia Mueller

Veterinarian

Leticia Mueller grew up on a dairy farm outside of Listowel and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004 and joined Mitchell Veterinary Services and worked as a mixed animal practitioner until 2008. She then started work as a small animal veterinarian, first at a clinic in Waterloo, then in Baden. She rejoined the Mitchell Vet group in the spring of 2022, working with the wonderful team at Coventry Animal Hospital. She enjoys meeting clients and helping their furry family members live long, healthy lives.
Leticia currently lives near Milverton on a dairy farm with her husband, 3 children, her 8 cats (most of whom were only supposed to be temporary residents!), and her dog, Eloise. When she is not at work or home with her family, Leticia loves to camp and travel.

The animal health field gives me lots of opportunity to learn every day. I enjoy the challenge that each day brings and the joy of a positive outcome. Client Care

Angie Schneider

Client Care

As a child, I had goldfish, hamsters and cats. As an adult, my fur family are my cats. I say family because our pets do become part of our families, it’s truly a wonderful thing! Our pets give us so much love, unconditionally, and just like with family, we enjoy the time we spend with them, are happy to see them thriving and enjoying life; we grieve when we have to say goodbye. Since working at Coventry Animal Hospital, I’ve also seen and met so many dogs, and have come to love and appreciate them as well. Who knows, maybe someday there will be a dog in this feline mix! I feel our pets are a blessing to our lives, and I’m very thankful for the blessings I have.

Lynne Harvey

Client Care

I am a relatively new member of the Coventry Animal Hospital team, working as a receptionist and kennel assistant. I have greatly enjoyed all the new friends I have made – both the four and the two legged! Being part of a veterinary team means that every day brings something new, which makes each day exciting. I love meeting new furry friends, and welcoming back old ones. Animals truly bring something special to the lives of those who love them; and being part of the bond between people and their pets is wonderful!

Leah Vingerhoeds

Client Care

I grew up on a hobby farm that has turned into a goat farm just outside of Mitchell. I have always loved animals, whether it be goats, dogs, cats, cows, pigs or fish to name a few! It is amazing to see the bond that is made between a pet and its owner, and I get to see this bond and the love they have for each other every day at Coventry Animal Hospital!

Julia Woodcock

Client Care

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always had a strong passion for animals. Giving animals the care they deserve has always been something that I’m very passionate about.
Working at Coventry animal hospital has been amazing! I have learned so much and I’m excited to learn more! Watching animals get the care they deserve is the best heartwarming feeling to me. I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing team!

Katijo

Client Care

I am a member of the customer care team at Coventry. I am sort of a Jill of all trades, I work as customer care at the front reception desk, I groom on my off days here at the clinic and soon I will be working as one of our vet assistants. I graduated from Northern College in 2015 with honors from the Grooming and Vet Assistant programs and have worked as a groomer for almost 5 years after graduation. I moved to Stratford in 2020 and took the first job available. After leaving behind working with animals for almost 2 years it soon became clear that working at a job without animals was not the job for me. I love this job more and more as time goes on. I have met so many wonderful people, both staff and clients, and more amazing pets then I could have ever hoped for. The compassion that the team here shows towards our clients and their pets really makes this clinic feel like a home away from home and a truly safe place for your furry friends in need and I am truly blessed to be a part of it.

I love spending my days at Coventry surrounded by the wonderful team and of course all the furry animals that need care and compassion. Ever since I was young, I have hoped to become a veterinarian because of my love for all animals and my passion for medicine and caring for animals in need. Working at Coventry has been a great opportunity to immerse myself in the field of veterinary medicine before I pursue my future career. I also enjoy reading, puzzles, spending time with my family, including my crazy “boxador” Bentley and my Jack Russell Ginger.
